RANN, FOLEY 'UNDERMINE CRIMINAL TRIAL'
Whilst the Premier and the Police Minister are expected to deal with political issues, it is not expected that they will politicise, or attempt to politicise, the processes of a criminal trial. To do so runs the risk of undermining the fundamental rights which any accused person enjoys in our society. |
RANNSACKED
... And yet SA is stony broke, borrowing $2 million per day to pay public servants. Where has the money gone? What do we have to show for it? |
FACT vs FICTION: SMA's SECRET REPORT ON ADELAIDE OVAL REVEALED, AND DEMOLISHED
While claiming the Adelaide Oval redevelopment will generate an economic benefit of $110 million a year to the CBD, the Stadium Management Authority refuses to release the 'economic benefit study' which it commissioned and you paid for. No wonder it wants to keep it a secret: these claims are sheer fantasy, as we reveal |

SUNDAY MAIL DISCOVERS INTERNET
"If you want some provocative entertainment, google ICAC-SA - vainglorious and riddled with errors, it nonetheless raises questions the Government would prefer to ignore, such as the Burnside Council imbroglio, RAH costs, the Adelaide Oval controversy, union anger as well as rising fees and charges. All delicious issues where the Libs can't gain traction". - BRAD CROUCH, Sunday Mail State Political Editor, July 3, 2011
icac-sa comments: Where has the Sunday Mail been? We've been scooping it and other media on these issues for months. Errors? What errors? We stand by the accuracy of our content. We challenge politicians and journalists to point out our errors, as we gleefully and constantly expose theirs.
PS We loved the 'Only $2' badge on the front page of the Mail today. It refers to their 'Harry Potter wand' offer: you have to look inside the paper to find out that its price increased to $2 in the same issue.

LETTERS THE PAPERS WON'T PUBLISH
The local media's coverage of state politics, especially issues of official corruption, is so timid and compromised that the Letters pages are often the only place where independent voices may be heard. Row over builders' wage deal - June 09, 2011 Ben Schneiders The Age
icac-sa comments: The AMWU is already making hay, if not water, at the desal plant, which is a year overdue with cost blowouts the Rann government declines to disclose. Not only will the Victorian wage rise become industry-wide, but the majority of contracts let by Labor on local infrastructure projects have gone to Victorian tenderers. For massive developments like the new RAH and Adelaide Oval - whose price-tags already look rubbery - this could mean huge cost blowouts. You read it here first. |

Consultancy costs worth $110,000 not declared in water report - June 07, 2011 Julian Swallow The Advertiser
icac-sa comments:: A clerical error? Really? What the 'Tiser doesn't tell you is that Nous Group is run by one Tanya Smith, former secretary of the Premier's Department and a very close personal friend of Premier Mike Rann. The 'Tiser also omits to mention that this is the second 'clerical error' to handsomely benfit Ms. Smith: eight months after resigning her government job, she was still on the public payroll and collecting her salary. We'd like to know if she ever paid it back. Don't look to the 'Tiser to find out. |
